I’ve had the most wonderful 3 day weekend. I don’t want it to end.
I guess that’s why I’m sporting an extra big smile to bed tonight; it’s where all the fun memories are kept.

Yard sale-ing is the most fun thing ever.
Bought this album earlier today—I couldn’t resist. It has such a different sound than the other stuff that he’s done, but I think I like it. A lot.

My attempt to fall asleep quietly at a decent hour has been a disaster. 90 minutes later, it’s just not happening. The events thus far:
Get bored with “Matilda”
Hear someone talk in their sleep in the next room over
Make up a Skrillex-esque song in my head to go with my breathing pattern
Have a Chris Brown single stuck in my head for more than half an hour
Reposition my pillow about 7 times
Write a blog post in hopes that it will make me tired
Next up: Count to 1000 in multiples of 4. Let’s hope this works.
“…to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:77-79 ESV)
This was part of Zechariah’s prophecy for John the Baptist, but I can’t get past the imagery and the beautiful picture it paints for why we’re called to live out the Gospel.
Every morning, the sunrise is all I should need to remind me of why I’m here.
Gah.
If you hesitate when God tells you to do something, you are being careless, spurning the grace in which you stand.
He’s just the best.
Our beach rental has an Escher print in the bathroom, NatGeo magazines, a slew of suspense/conspiracy novels, fluffier-than-normal pillows, and puzzles with an impossibly large number of pieces.
How did they know?

On the way back from NC this weekend we listened to a couple CDs I made back in 9th/10th grade, and it rekindled my love for the music of the early 2000s. I just took a study break to dig through my iTunes for my best throwback tunes, and I found some gems. This will probably be the first of many that I post.
Enjoy the nostalgia.
